Suavito is a proven first-up performer and returned to racing this year for a comfortable win over a talented field in the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes; over the course and distance of Saturday’s PB Lawrence Stakes 2016.

Blackiston told AAP that he could not be more pleased with how the Thorn Park mare’s preparation has gone so far, and is confident the booking of Michael Walker for the ride in the PB Lawrence Stakes could mean the difference in success.

“She’s been in work nearly three months now,” Blackiston said.

“She came back in good order and has had a couple of jump-outs. The first one was really good. The second one was just fair but that’s her. She never trials well in the second trial. She just goes through the motions.

“I’ve had a great rapport with Michael over many years. We seem to click really well together and he suits my horses.

“I’m pleased that he’s on board.”

Suavito has been a strong and consistent performer for Blackiston throughout her entire racing career since debuting in the spring of 2013; posting a commendable eight wins and as many minors through twenty-two competitive starts.

Producing a number of smart efforts amongst her own age group as a three-year-old, Suavito returned to racing in particularly slick form during the 2014 Spring Carnival; capping her six starts with consecutive wins in the Group 2 Eliza Park International Stakes (1600m) and Group 2 Momentum Energy Stakes (2000m).

Undoubtedly finding career-best form to date through the 2015 Autumn Carnival however, Suavito charged home to claim her maiden win at the highest level in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) first-up before winning the Group 2 Blamey Stakes (1600m) and finishing a credible seventh in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m), in heavy conditions.

Progressing to third in her defence of the Futurity Stakes second-up this year, the mare out of Queen Cha Cha failed to make anything of an impact in the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) and Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) most recently.
